Tennessee Republican Congressman Tim Burchett is taking a fiery stand against his fellow party leaders and the current administration as he warns that the American people are witnessing “the beginning of the end” for the United States.
In his speech, which was shared by the conservative news outlet Townhall, Burchett made it clear that he is not holding back when it comes to the ongoing crisis at the southern border. Addressing his colleagues in Congress, he remarked, “When I first took office and this border issue was already an issue, I can remember we started talking then, and I said, ‘No border, no budget.’ That’s how important it is to the American people.”
He then went on to criticize the recent $1.2 trillion dollar spending bill, which was passed last week in Congress. Burchett emphasized that the bill did not address the biggest concern of the American people, which is the surging crisis at the border. He exclaimed, “If we lose our country, it’s not worth it. It is absolutely not worth it…You are seeing the beginning of the end for the United States of America.”
Burchett continued to express his frustration with his colleagues for prioritizing the interests of the “national chambers of commerce” over the American people. He also highlighted the irony of the current situation, where Americans are being forced to pay for the healthcare of illegal immigrants. He stated, “They want somebody on your roof that doesn’t speak the language, that is not from this country, that is not here legally because you know what happens when they fall off? They kick their a** out. They throw them to the curb. They’re in the emergency room. You and I are paying for their healthcare, and they don’t give a damn about them one bit.”
The Hill reported that the bill included “wins” for Republicans, such as prohibiting the flying of unofficial flags at U.S. embassies and blocking bans on gas stoves. However, Burchett was not impressed by these small victories and criticized his fellow party members for not addressing the real issue at hand. He stated, “They want the PR stunt for the base, and that’s it…What a win.”
The bill did provide funding for expanding detention centers and hiring more border agents, but Burchett argued that this was “too little too late.” He pointed out that the bill did not address the ongoing flow of illegal immigrants into the country and the lack of harsher penalties for those who enter illegally.

Burchett clearly places the blame on his fellow Republican colleagues, specifically Speaker Mike Johnson, for allowing this bill to pass. In fact, Republican Representative Majorie Taylor Greene of Georgia has filed a motion to remove Johnson as speaker, citing his decision to put the bill on the floor as the reason.
