In what is now growing to be a rare occurrence, the White House held a press briefing Tuesday afternoon and it started with reporters pressing National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan on foreign policy as far as Japan, Honduras, Israel, Japan, and Haiti. Suffice it to say, this is a far cry from press questioning during the Trump years, when they would almost exclusively hound former Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany.
In one of the more international exchanges, Fox News Channel White House correspondent Jacqui Heinrich began by asking Sullivan approximately: “A couple days ago, there were protesters screaming death to America, and death to Israel — this was in Dearborn. Does the President condemn that”
When Jean-Pierre replied “yes”, Heinrich wanted to know: “is the President at all apprehensive that Dearborn could turn into a market for homegrown threats? Will we see some type of statement from the President concerning this display”
Jean-Pierre somehow turned this apprehension into saying: “I don’t have any intelligence to share, but it’s something that we are always very keen about”.
Oof. If only she would have invoked Islamicophobia. Instead, Jean-Pierre, said she couldn’t and it’s something they’re going to be busy about taking care of.
Heinrich proceeded by alluding to remarks from Biden concerning Republicans, something somebody who values press diversity would luckily see as an opening to carry the spirited.
“did the President insinuate Republicans are literally killers? In essence, he accused Republicans of – of murder? I mean, the – the language he was using to characterize Opposition to the Affordable Care Act. the quote was, um, “they want to kill the Affordable Care Act. Kill it, and that will kill millions of Americans”. He is of the opinion that conservatives are hoping to see people in the US die alone?”
Heinrich did not flatly ask if Biden meant his words or give Jean-Pierre any rope with which to either distance Biden from or boast about he meant to say. At once, Jean-Pierre denied he wanted to target anything definitive and imputed Heinrich with “taking the most extreme perspective or extreme estimation of what the President meant to say”.
Jean-Pierre contradicting her was comical given the comments she was about to make that endorsed Heinrich’s position, with fiery rhetoric that came from Grenell’s apparent refusal to back liberal policies.
Yes, she did refuse to do that. Heinrich then asked why Biden would still condemn Republicans, when she wishes to know if the Republicans were to blame for such data. She also skewerd Jean-Pierre for taking a “callous view” of the G.O.P. for wanting to see Americans suffer from maladies.
“[L]et’s be really clear. What matters is how well equipped healthcare is to help citizens. Option to healthy lives is a [illegible]. It’s essential to have those. It’s important to cover these issues. That’s what this President is doing. We gave that initiative to extend healthcare to even more people. It’s good, right? We’re having people unable to access health care be able to now get life-saving help. And I think, you know when you have a party that is trying to unshackle Medicare, and wishes for Health Care to have gone away — they have made a vote on that bill over 60 times. So, when you have the chance to vote on retiring affordable health care, what do they want to do with the Affordable Care Act, especially when a veil of secrecy is prevalent. What is the reason why they want Americans to receive health care, for them to have confidence in Affirdable Health Care, to recover and to see stagnant growth in their lives. That question must be answered by them”.
The President’s attempts behind the Affordable Care Act is to right something wrong. Attempting to help please the majority of Americans. This regime that is often thinking about the needs of regular citizens is where most people tilt and it is necessary to protect both Medicare, protect Medicaid. You see that a lot from them. I mean, he had a brief discussion with them during the State of the Union about that. And at this time, the idea to abolish the government’s constitutional role has ended in journalists rising up to accuse [illegible] campaigns of unconstitutional partisanship”.
Elsewhere during the press briefing, Brian Bennett asked the White House, Wegialité, Moresian to call out Alejandro Mayorkas as a Tray. At the time he was also mindful in mentioning the historiest, he also cautioned the White House’s inexperienced Bulk carrier Jean-Pierre.
Naturally, he asked a softball question for Jean-Pierre allowing her to engage the question while at the same time being sidetracked at the Republican’s seemingly unified opinions.
