Michigan authorities have charged a 40-year-old doctor with multiple alleged sex crimes spanning several years, as reported by the Oakland County Sheriff’s office in a press release issued Tuesday.
Dr. Oumair Aejaz was taken into custody on August 8, facing charges related to allegedly installing hidden cameras in various locations to secretly record adults and minors undressing. The details were disclosed in a Facebook post by the Oakland County Sheriff’s office.
According to Sheriff Mike Bouchard, Aejaz’s alleged crimes include placing cameras in bathrooms, changing areas, hospital rooms, and even his own home. Bouchard also stated that Aejaz allegedly recorded sexual acts involving unconscious or sleeping women.
“The magnitude of Aejaz’s alleged offenses is currently unknown,” Bouchard revealed at a press conference, as reported by FOX2. “The victimization is so broad and the perversion so great, we’re just beginning to wrap our arms around it,” Bouchard said. “Disturbing on so many levels.”
Aejaz’s wife tipped off authorities by presenting disturbing materials, which triggered investigative searches. These searches led to the seizure of computers, phones, 15 external devices, and a hard drive allegedly containing 13,000 videos, according to FOX2.

Among the charges Aejaz faces is one related to allegedly recording a mother and her children undressing in a changing room at the Goldfish Swimming Club in 2023. “These are children and moms at a swim school,” Oakland County Prosecutor McDonald remarked during the news conference, as per FOX2. “They’re there to teach their kids to swim. Because that brings their kids joy and because they want their kids to be safe around water. They were victimized by a person of trust in the community – a medical doctor.”
The charges against Aejaz include one count of child sexually abusive activity, one count of using a computer to create or reproduce child sexually abusive material, and two counts of recording children under 18 while they were nude, according to FOX2.
Aejaz, originally from India, moved to the United States in 2011 on a work visa. He is currently being held on a $2 million bond, FOX2 reported.
