Monday, the screeching on “The View” over Trump’s former acting ICE Director Tom Homan being nominated for border czar, was thankfully met with ABC’s Sara Haines standing up and speaking some common sense – something that is desperately needed in the world of the “elected elite”. After just one weekend the ladies on the show had yet to do any examination into why their beloved Democratic Party took such a humiliating loss in the recent election.
They began by throwing out extreme accusations about Trump suddenly and without cause, nominating Homan for border czar. Haines was not about to be silenced and told her co-hosts that “there is a problem at the border and there has been for decades,” adding that “every administration has come through and no one has fixed it.”
Haines went on to say that she believed “it ballooned in the last administration, and that’s what people voted on, as a referendum.” She confidently stated that “either we have laws at the border or we don’t” when it comes to illegal immigration.
That’s when Haines really went all in and called out the Democrats for handing out free stuff to illegal immigrants. She pointed out that this would only incentivize more people to come here illegally. She boldly used Governor Tim Walz (D-MN) as an example, reminding everyone that he signed off on legislation that would allow illegal immigrants to receive free in-state tuition.
Haines went on to share that free meal cards and other handouts were also being given out to illegals when people in our own country are struggling to make ends meet and can’t even afford to send their own children to college. She made the point that while helping others should be done out of the goodness of our hearts, there needs to be a balance so as not to hurt those who are already struggling.
Co-host Whoopi Goldberg snapped back with a statement that Democrats were inconvenienced by illegal immigration. She argued, “the Border Patrol agents were saying, this is a good deal for us.” She then accused Trump of halting the border bill that was supposedly stopped by him shortly after being elected president. However, that’s not true! The Border Patrol union actually had chosen Trump to be the candidate they endorsed.
Newly crowned fake Republican Ana Navarro revealed just how out of touch she is with reality by bragging, “So, I told them that I suggested they learn how to clean their kids’ ass.” When she was questioned about it, she quickly turned the blame on the American voters who put Trump into office, spitefully claiming “America screwed up with Trump and is about to find out.”
Haines, showing her true independence, stood her ground and refused to let the conversation turn into bashing Trump. She turned the focus back to helping those who truly deserve it – the legal immigrants who are desperately seeking asylum and are being overshadowed by those who are cutting in line and taking advantage of our loopholes. She recognized that there is a problem with the immigration system and suggested that a real conversation needs to happen without demonizing one side or the other.
Sunny Hostin, in her attempt to minimize the issue, argued that “undocumented immigrants pay approximately $96.7 billion in federal, state and local taxes.” She continued on to say that the money goes to things like social security and Medicaid, but illegals don’t receive any benefits in return.
She made a patronizing comment saying that “Americans don’t know that immigrants are paying these taxes.” Haines quickly shot back and reminded Hostin that the issue wasn’t about taxes, it was about balancing the needs of Americans who are suffering while also helping those who come to our country legally.
The ladies of “The View” were unable to see beyond their own biases and their support for the Democratic Party. However, ABC’s Sara Haines stood out as the voice of reason, bringing up valid points about the need for balance and honesty in the conversation around immigration.
