On Monday evening, President Trump unveiled a series of new Executive Orders targeting military practices and strategic defense. Addressing Republican lawmakers at a retreat at Trump National Doral in Miami, Florida, the President outlined his plan to bolster national security and ensure military efficiency. Trump highlighted his commitment to safeguarding American citizens with an advanced Iron Dome missile defense shield, asserting that “everything will be made right here in the USA, 100%.”
He emphasized that while the U.S. has defended other nations, it now stands ready to protect its own people. Citing Israel’s successful missile defense efforts, Trump expressed confidence in America’s technological capacity, stating, “And when Ronald Reagan wanted to do it many years ago, luckily we didn’t. We didn’t have the technology then. It was a concept, but we didn’t, and now we have phenomenal technology.”
Furthermore, Trump’s orders aim to eliminate what he perceives as divisive ideologies within the military ranks. In a bold move, the President declared, “Next to ensure that we have the most lethal fighting force in the world, we will get transgender ideology the hell out of our military. It’s going to be gone.” He thus aims to root out Critical Race Theory (CRT) and related initiatives, which he feels compromise the effectiveness of military personnel. This directive is reinforced by Trump’s previous orders against Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) programs, which he referred to as “radical and wasteful.”

Echoing these sentiments, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth is already implementing steps to purge leftwing ideologies from the Department of Defense. Over the weekend, Hegseth promised swift compliance from the Pentagon, noting, “Those who do not comply will no longer work here.” Trump praised Hegseth, describing him as exactly the right person to enforce these policies. “I think he’s going to be fantastic,” Trump stated, highlighting Hegseth’s dedication to these reforms.
Another crucial Executive Order addresses the recent expulsion of service members due to noncompliance with COVID-19 vaccine mandates. Trump announced, “And finally, we will offer full reinstatement to any service member who was expelled from the armed forces due to the COVID vaccine mandate, and we will restore them to their former rank with full pay.” This initiative seeks to reinstate approximately 8,000 service members dismissed under the Biden administration rules, rectifying what Trump perceives as an unjust overreach.
These sweeping changes underline Trump’s unwavering drive to eliminate corruption, reinforce military morale, and bolster national defense capabilities. His commitment to producing military resources domestically and asserting national interests in defense and ideology casts a vision of strength and autonomy.
