Former CNN host Jim Acosta, who was so ineffective at his job that he no longer works there, recently delivered a tone-deaf warning to the far-left Center for American Progress (CAP) about how conservatives have “infiltrated the heartland.” Acosta, whose credibility evaporated long before his CNN departure, claimed that farmers and rural Americans are being “led astray” by conservative media, proving just how out of touch the liberal media elite truly are.
“The far-right in this country has kind of figured out a way to infiltrate the heartland and to basically to pull Ma and Pa from the farm to their point of view,” Acosta whined during the CAP event. “And as it turns out, a lot of these folks vote in these elections and a lot of those folks have been completely led astray. I hate to say it, but they’ve just been completely led astray. And we’ve all just let this happen on our watch with essentially a business model for delivering the news in this country that just does not work anymore.”
Notice the irony? Acosta, a failed mainstream media personality, now blames conservative voices for his industry’s collapse—rather than admitting that Americans have rejected the left’s propaganda machine. The truth is, rural voters aren’t being “infiltrated”; they’re making informed choices based on policies that work—unlike the disastrous left-wing agendas pushed by Acosta and his allies.
Acosta’s meltdown reveals the liberal media’s real fear: President Donald Trump’s enduring popularity in Middle America. While coastal elites mock “flyover country,” Trump’s policies on energy independence, agriculture, and deregulation have revitalized the heartland. Meanwhile, Democrats push radical climate mandates that would cripple farmers and rural economies. No wonder Acosta is panicking—his side is losing.

The fact that Acosta delivered this rant at a CAP event says it all. CAP is a far-left think tank that champions open borders, Green New Deal extremism, and media censorship. Acosta isn’t concerned about “misinformation”—he’s angry that conservative voices like Rush Limbaugh (whom he name-dropped) outmaneuvered the left’s narrative control.
The liberal media’s business model doesn’t work because Americans see through their bias. Networks like CNN spent years pushing hoaxes—Russia collusion, “mostly peaceful” BLM riots, COVID fearmongering—while ignoring Biden’s failures. Now, as Trump surges in the polls, Acosta and his ilk can only sneer at the voters who reject them.
