Their coverage consistently sides with agitators and lawbreakers, portraying them as heroic defenders of rights while dismissing the deep offense their actions cause to the American public.

The media’s narrative conveniently overlooks the administration’s valid point that “American Flag burning is also used by groups of foreign nationals as a calculated act to intimidate and threaten violence against Americans because of their nationality.”

The individual detained, though a veteran, chose to engage in a knowingly illegal and inflammatory act. His statement, “I’m burning this flag as a protest of that illegal, fascist president that sits in that house,” demonstrates the very kind of contemptuous and divisive rhetoric that the order seeks to curb. While his service is acknowledged, his current actions are not shielded by his past; they are a blatant violation of a lawful executive order.

The U.S. Park Police correctly intervened, arresting him for a “prohibited fire,” a straightforward enforcement of the code.

President Trump’s executive action is a robust defense of American values and national symbolism against the tide of anarchistic sentiment often glorified by the left. It is a reaffirmation that the “great American Flag is the most sacred and cherished symbol of the United States of America, and of American freedom, identity, and strength.”

The liberal media’s attempt to frame this as a First Amendment issue is a deliberate misreading of the situation; the government has a compelling interest in preventing acts that threaten public safety and order.

The President is fully within his authority to direct the executive branch to prioritize the protection of this national symbol from willful destruction and the societal discord it inevitably sows.
