Bill O’Reilly went straight at House Democrats tonight. He told Leland Vittert on NewsNation that many who plan to skip President Donald Trump’s State of the Union aren’t doing it out of principle. They’re following orders.
O’Reilly called the boycott childish. He said it won’t help Democrats. It just looks like a stunt. He argued the true reason they’re ditching the speech is money — donors pulling strings, not voters.

Bill O’Reilly says Democrats who are skipping President Trump’s SOTU are taking marching orders from their radical-left donors.
He predicts that unlike last year, every Democrat who actually shows up will stand and applaud Team USA — and says it would be political suicide if they don’t.
VITTERT: “What’s your over under on the number of Democrats who stand up and applaud Team USA?”
O’REILLY: “All of them that are there because a real radicals are not going to be there.”
“So the radical left in the House are 100% dependent on radical left money. So there’s not really a people with an independent point of view on anything.”
“They do what they’re told, and they were told to go down to the mall and do another State of the Union, the people’s state of the union, whatever stupid thing they came up with.”
“So they’re not going to be there, all of these a bomb throwers, Trump haters.”
“The other Democrats have to stand. It would hurt them so dramatically if they don’t.”
O’Reilly predicted those who do show up will rise and applaud Team USA. He framed it as common sense politics: stand with the office, or watch your support vanish. That’s a hard line. It’s the kind of messaging Republicans will use, plain and simple.
For supporters of President Donald Trump, the idea of Democrats skipping the event is a relief. Fewer theatrics, fewer angry faces in the gallery. For the Democrats who stay, O’Reilly says the pressure is intense. Don’t clap, and you risk your seat. Clap, and you risk pissing off your base.
Either way, O’Reilly says the boycott tells you where priorities lie: fundraising and optics over showing respect for a constitutional ritual.
