Illegal Driver Crashes Beside ICE Arrest
A roadside immigration enforcement operation in Broward County, Florida, took an unexpected turn when a second crash happened right next to officers already dealing with another driver.
Real America’s Voice correspondent Ben Bergquam was on scene for the Florida 287(g) Highway Patrol and ICE operation. While officers were arresting one driver on the side of a highway, Bergquam captured a white pickup rear-ending a gray pickup nearby.
According to Bergquam, the gray truck was driven by an illegal immigrant. He said that driver had hit the brakes after a minor collision with another car, and that second vehicle drove away. Then the white pickup struck the rear of the gray truck.
Officers moved quickly across the highway and found that another driver involved in the crash was also in the country illegally.
“We’re over here picking up one illegal driving this van, and then this ends up happening. This driver slammed on his brakes, this guy hits him, but then this guy just happens to be illegal too,” Bergquam said on camera.
He added, “The density of the population of illegals in America, most Americans just can’t comprehend it. I mean, literally, we’re picking up this guy. This guy’s an illegal driver, and gets rear-ended by this guy, who’s just on his way to work. Crazy,”
Bergquam later told The Gateway Pundit that the driver was found to be operating without a license or insurance. He also said the man had been arrested multiple times before for driving without a license.
The clip was also posted on X, where Bergquam wrote:
“Crazy scene on our Florida 287(g) Highway Patrol / ICE operation. As we’re picking up one illegal another illegal crashes right next to us. The truth is most Americans can’t comprehend how many illegals are in our country. Thank God, ICE and America First states like Florida are fighting to fix it!”

The scene also fed into a bigger debate over driver’s licenses and commercial licenses handed out in some blue states. Florida and federal officials have been tightening enforcement, while Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy recently moved to withhold more than $73 million in federal highway funds from New York over what officials said were illegally issued CDLs tied to illegal aliens.
For law enforcement, the moment was another reminder of how messy these roadside encounters can get. One stop turned into two. And what started as a single arrest ended with a second illegal driver being pulled into the same scene.
