White House Trolls Taylor Swift as 10,000 Lose Power in Queens
The White House spent Friday turning Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s big day into a social media joke. The administration posted an AI-generated image and leaned on the line “IT’S HAPPENED!!!” while mocking billboards outside Madison Square Garden that read “JUST&T MARRIED.” Its edited version said, “TRUMP IS YOUR PRESIDENT,” a clear swipe at Swift, who backed Kamala Harris in 2024.

The joking did not stop there. A day earlier, the White House posted an “America’s Era Tour” graphic built around presidents and historic American scenes. The caption said, “It’s been a long time coming,” which echoed Swift’s own tour language. Later on Friday, the White House shared another video montage and wrote, “NEXT ON AMERICA’S ERAS TOUR.”

Meanwhile, the wedding itself drew huge attention. NBC described it as “America’s royal wedding.” The network reported that Swift and Kelce were married at Madison Square Garden, with about 1,100 guests expected, electronic invites sent with nondisclosure agreements, and no phones allowed. The event also brought out a mix of fans, paparazzi, and VIP names, including longtime friends, musicians, and several of Kelce’s Chiefs teammates.

Fans still showed up outside the arena in the heat. It was around 100 degrees in Manhattan, but people gathered anyway to catch a glimpse of the SUV arrival and the crowd around the venue. Another clip circulating online showed the scene outside the building as excitement built through the night.

The bigger contrast came in Queens, where 10,000 customers were without power and air conditioning as temperatures climbed above 100 degrees. So while one side of New York was wrapped in a high-profile celebrity spectacle, another was dealing with a very different kind of summer problem.
