Charlotte Suspect With 14 Prior Arrests Taken Into Custody After Livestreamed Attacks
Disturbing videos shared online appeared to show a Black male attacking white women on the streets of Charlotte, North Carolina. The footage was obtained and posted by Matt Van Swol, who said the suspect appeared to attack a woman without provocation as she walked along a sidewalk.
Van Swol also said the man chased the woman and threatened to kill her. The video quickly drew attention online because it appeared to capture a sudden street attack in progress. The report stated that the man had not been arrested at the time the first footage was posted.

A second video posted by Van Swol appeared to show Di-Quan Hunt beating a white woman who was lying on the pavement and appeared to be unconscious. The footage was described as another incident connected to the same suspect.

WSOC later reported that Di-Quan Schafar Hunt had been taken into custody. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said Hunt would be charged with assault with a deadly weapon. Police also said the female victim from the previous Thursday’s attack suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
CMPD said Hunt was being evaluated at a medical facility before being taken to jail. The department also said its investigation remained ongoing. That means additional details could emerge as investigators continue reviewing the videos and gathering information about the reported attacks.
