John Kennedy Says Senate Republicans Have No Money for Ken Paxton—VIDEO

Louisiana Sen. John Kennedy is sounding the alarm over the Texas Senate race. He says Senate Republicans have no money budgeted to help Attorney General Ken Paxton, and he is looking to President Trump for reinforcements.

“We in the Senate don’t have the money budgeted for Texas,” Kennedy said in a Sunday interview with Fox News.

He added, ”We need help from the President. The President says he has $850 million in his campaign accounts. That’s a lot of jack.”

The warning comes as Paxton prepares for a November matchup against Democratic state Rep. James Talarico. Paxton won the May Republican runoff after defeating four-term RINO Sen. John Cornyn. He had Trump’s endorsement during the contest, despite strong opposition from the Republican establishment.

Talarico is a far-left Democrat and Presbyterian seminarian. He has previously said “God is non-binary,” argued that “the Bible is silent on abortion,” and described Immigration and Customs Enforcement as a “secret police force.”

The Democratic nominee also holds a major financial advantage. Federal Election Commission filings through June 30 showed Paxton’s campaign committee with approximately $1.8 million in cash on hand. Talarico had roughly $21.5 million.

Advertising numbers show an even wider gap. Tracking data cited by CNN showed Democrats spending approximately $31.5 million on advertising since June, compared with $4.7 million for Republicans. Talarico’s campaign accounted for most of the Democratic spending, while Paxton’s campaign had spent just over $150,000 during that period.

The gap follows a costly Republican primary. More than $120 million was reportedly spent on Republican advertising across both rounds, including major spending by groups aligned with Cornyn against Paxton.

The Senate Leadership Fund, which is aligned with Republican Senate leadership, had no independent-expenditure advertising planned in Texas earlier this summer. Trump-aligned MAGA Inc. has reportedly built a war chest exceeding $400 million but had not launched a major advertising campaign in the state.

Trump traveled to Houston this week for an RNC fundraiser aimed at helping Paxton build his campaign reserves.

“We’re trying to get help from all over the country,” Paxton told Fox News.

Paxton also announced that his campaign would increase its advertising across Texas after the fundraiser.

An Emerson College poll recently showed Paxton leading by one point. The Cook Political Report currently rates the race as a toss-up.
