Breaking Bad Star RJ Mitte Dead at 34 as Texas Death Investigation Continues
RJ Mitte, best known for playing Walter White Jr. on Breaking Bad, has died at the age of 34.
TMZ reported that Mitte died by suicide Monday in Texas. A county official confirmed his death to the outlet, while law enforcement said the death investigation remains ongoing.
Mitte became widely known through Breaking Bad, the television series created by Vince Gilligan. He played Walter White Jr. on the show.
Breaking Bad ran from 2008 through 2013 and won nearly 100 awards, including 16 Primetime Emmy Awards.
Mitte was diagnosed with a mild case of cerebral palsy as a child.
Mitte was engaged to his longtime partner, Kennedy Suarez. He proposed to her last year, according to the report.
Earlier this month, Mitte spent time with his Breaking Bad co-star Luis Moncada. Social media posts from that meeting showed the two men smiling and appearing to be in good spirits.
Those posts came shortly before news of Mitte’s death emerged. The available details remain limited as the Texas investigation continues.
