Trump Trolls Ilhan Omar With ‘Scam Likely’ Meme as Dispute Over Her Name Escalates
President Trump used a mocking phone-call meme to target Rep. Ilhan Omar on Saturday, according to The Gateway Pundit. The post came as the report described an escalating fight over Omar’s name and background, along with an ongoing federal criminal investigation.
The investigation moved into focus after a recent court filing by the DC US Attorney’s Office. According to the report, the filing referred to the congresswoman in search warrants as “Ilhan Nur Said Elmi, a/k/a Ilhan Abdullahi Omar.” The warrants involved her home and property, while the filing stated that they had not been fully executed.
The report then cited sources familiar with the investigation who alleged that “Ilhan Omar” was a fake alias used to obtain citizenship in the year 2000, live in the country illegally, and run for office. Those claims were presented as part of the continuing investigation and political dispute.
A former Minnesota federal immigration judge also said the allegations could “call into question” every document Omar had filled out under the name Ilhan Omar.
The article also quoted US Attorney Jeanine Pirro, who reportedly confirmed the name at issue on Thursday. Pirro said, “Her real name is Ilhan Nur Said Elmi. You had it absolutely right.” She added, “Her sister is Sahra Nur Said Elmi, and her sister actually wrote a book and talked about the fact that Ilhan is her sister. So that is her name.”
Trump had already taken aim at Omar during a Friday exchange with reporters, saying her “whole life is a total scam.” Lindell TV and The Gateway Pundit correspondent Cara Castronuova then asked the President, “How come Ilhan Omar doesn’t have a gag order like you did?”
Trump then posted an image on Truth Social. The graphic showed a mock incoming iPhone call featuring a picture of Ilhan without her head covering and an AI-generated balding head. The caller ID read, “Scam likely” from Mogadishu, Somalia. Trump posted the image without a comment.
Omar has denied using a fictitious name. The report also said she went on to vote in the 2026 election on Friday, even as the controversy continued.
Trump’s attacks have not been limited to social media. The report said he criticized Omar at rallies in Iowa on Thursday and Florida on Friday, while calling for her resignation from Congress and saying she “must immediately have to resign from Congress.”
A separate video item included in the report described another Trump attack on Omar. Its headline quoted him saying she “Comes From a Sh*t House Country!” and calling for her to “Immediately Resign from Congress.”
The dispute now combines criminal-investigation claims, competing accounts about Omar’s identity, a public denial from Omar, and Trump’s aggressive online and rally rhetoric. The “Scam likely” meme adds a personal and mocking edge to a fight that has already moved from court filings into national political combat.
