John Solomon Rebuts Laura Loomer’s Qatar Claims

John Solomon is pushing back against Laura Loomer after she used a scheduled meeting listed in FARA documents to suggest that Qatar controls the outlet connected to his company. Solomon called the accusation reckless and defamatory.

The dispute began with an October 31, 2026, post from Loomer. She identified JTN Network as the parent company of Just the News and said the network owns Human Events after acquiring the brand, along with The Post Millennial, on November 10, 2025. Her post also identified Mark Meckler as JTN Network’s CEO. Loomer used the reported meeting and the corporate information to raise questions about Qatar’s relationship with the media company.

Solomon answered directly. “Laura, this is a reckless series of posts worthy of Joe McCarthy,” he wrote. He said his lawyers would make clear that Loomer’s insinuation that JTN or its employees were involved in a “money exchange” or “pay and bribe” scheme with Qatar was “demonstrably false and defamatory.”

Solomon’s central argument was that a media contact appearing in a FARA report does not automatically show foreign control, corruption, or terrorist sympathies. He said PR firms, lobbying firms, and law firms working for foreign governments routinely report contacts with American news outlets.

He pointed to previous Just the News contacts involving Qatar and Israel. In one instance, the outlet asked for comment about an Iranian attack on Qatari energy assets. In another, it requested an interview with a Qatari official. Solomon said the interview was used to confirm whether the Biden administration had asked Qatar to restore Hamas’s operating headquarters in Doha after the October 7 attack. He said the lead came from Israeli officials and American diplomats, and that Qatar confirmed the information. The report is available at Just the News.

“Hardly the stuff of jihadi terrorist propaganda or Qatari bribery,” Solomon wrote. He also argued that American media outlets seeking Qatari comment about the Iran talks could create similar entries in future FARA filings. In his view, those contacts are part of journalism and fair comment, not proof of terrorist sympathies.

Solomon also accused Loomer of showing X users only part of the document. He said she deceptively trimmed the form to highlight a text message to Jack seeking a meeting. According to Solomon, the fuller document showed similar routine contacts involving Fox News, The Daily Mail, Newsmax, CNN, and NBC. He said the same page also listed a contact with Secretary Bessent, which Loomer did not include.

“These aren’t on their face sinister,” Solomon wrote. He said such contacts are usually efforts to obtain updates about international news. His point was simple: a reported attempt to arrange a meeting is not the same thing as proof that an outlet has been bought or directed by a foreign government.

Solomon further objected to Loomer’s use of his photograph and the names of his brands. He said the post insinuated that the company was bought and paid for by terrorist sympathizers. He contrasted that claim with a Just the News report published the same day about Abdul El-Sayed’s campaign inside Islamic mosques and centers where clerics had called America “Satan” and prayed for “revenge” against Zionists.

Solomon said that reporting showed his outlet was exposing Islamist extremism, not enabling it. The story is available at Just the News.

He ended by asking Elon Musk and Community Notes to correct what he called a reckless inaccuracy. Solomon also said Loomer would receive a retraction request from his lawyers. The disagreement now centers on whether routine media contacts listed in FARA paperwork should be treated as evidence of foreign control or as the ordinary result of journalists seeking information from people connected to international events.
