Watch: Rep Roy shocks GOP colleagues with scathing speech, Is He Finished?

Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) took to the House floor in a fiery speech, lambasting his Republican colleagues for abandoning fiscal responsibility and betraying conservative principles. As the House was considering a stopgap funding measure to prevent a government shutdown.

Roy called out the bill for adding $5 trillion to the national debt and increasing spending by $110 billion without any meaningful cuts. He also condemned the suspension of PAYGO, a mechanism designed to enforce budgetary discipline.

In a moment of clear frustration, Roy declared, “I am absolutely sickened by a party that campaigns on fiscal responsibility and has the temerity to present this [bill] to the American people as fiscally responsible.” His passionate speech highlights the growing frustration among conservative lawmakers over the lack of fiscal restraint in Congress.

Roy: “When I got through cancer about 12 years ago, I made a promise to my kids that I would do everything I can to save this country.

What we’re doing right now is doubling down on the things that are destroying the Republic. We are going to increase the debt ceiling—not just $4 trillion, as claimed. That’s false.

We have spent $4.7 trillion in additional debt over the last 19 months. We’re going to increase the debt by $5 trillion. That’s what’s happening here: Republicans are increasing the debt by $5 trillion.”

The mainstream media, as expected, has remained surprisingly silent about Roy’s powerful rebuke of his own party. Despite his strong defense of conservative principles, the liberal media has chosen to ignore his speech and continue to push their narrative of reckless Republican spending. This is just another example of the constant bias and selective reporting by the liberal media.

But we won’t let the mainstream media silence the truth. Rep. Roy’s impassioned speech is proof that there are still Republicans who are willing to stand up for fiscal responsibility and hold their colleagues accountable. His powerful words serve as a reminder that the Republican party should be the party of limited government, not the party of reckless spending.
