In a recent interview, Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) made the outrageous claim that all money people make over $999 million per year should be confiscated by the government. This egregious suggestion is a clear indication of Sanders’s socialist agenda. This proposal is not only dangerous but a direct assault on the American dream and our sense of hard work and ingenuity.
The interview with Chris Wallace on CNN’s “Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace” was a perfect example of Sanders’s radical views. When Wallace asked Sanders if billionaires should not exist, Sanders replied that the government should go back to a very progressive tax policy like what we had under Dwight D. Eisenhower.
This would mean that all money over a billion dollars would go to the government. Sanders defended this idea by saying that people can make it on $999 million.
This is an absurd and dangerous policy. It is clear that Sanders and President Biden are attempting to push an agenda of socialism and wealth redistribution.
This is a direct attack on our freedom and the ability to work hard and achieve success. It is a slap in the face to the millions of Americans who have spent their lives striving to make a better future for their families.
Furthermore, the idea of confiscation of wealth is not only immoral but unconstitutional. The Founding Fathers established the right to property as a fundamental right in the Constitution. To take away such a right is a direct violation of the law. This is a clear indication of Sanders’s socialist agenda.
"Are you basically saying that once you get to $999 million, the government should confiscate all the rest?"
BERNIE SANDERS: "I'm saying that we should go back to a very progressive tax policy."
"Over $1 billion basically all goes to the government?"
SANDERS: "Yeah" pic.twitter.com/YmIpTpI1oy

We cannot allow Sanders’s radical views to become the norm in our society. We must oppose any policies that seek to redistribute wealth or take away our fundamental rights. There shouldn’t be a ceiling on success in America. Sanders got this one wrong, again!
