Liberals are getting anxious as more lifelong Democrats flip the script and switch teams right before the midterms. One big-shot writer and civil liberties attorney announced on Twitter that she was ditching the blue for the first time in her life. Jenin Younes says that a big motivator behind her decision to never vote for Democrats again is the authoritarian leadership during the pandemic.
“Though I was a lifelong Democrat until 2020, I will be voting red this November and in every election for the foreseeable future. I firmly believe that, despite my many disagreements with platforms of the Republican Party, it poses far less of a threat than Democrats,” Jenin Younes wrote on Twitter this week.

Younes told Steve Doocy on Thursday that several crucial issues compelled her to make the switch, including gender identity politics forced on children, Biden’s executive overreach, censorship and “authoritarianism.”
“I would say I initially associated the Democrats with sticking up for the little guy, being anti-corporation, even anti-big government,” she said while appearing on “Fox & Friends.”
“Things have changed since then, and I would say especially with COVID where the Democrats really embraced authoritarian policies in terms of closing businesses and schools,” she added.
Younes lambasted Democrats’ notoriety for censorship, particularly through the Big Tech and social media crackdowns, adding that the issues she finds so important have made her consider voting Republican for some time.
“We even have a voting bloc called ‘Democrats for DeSantis’ because we’ve really admired his way of dealing with COVID,” she said.

She roasted progressive Democrats even further by dissecting their laser focus on gender ideology issues for children, including pronouns and gender-affirming treatments for minors.
“[That’s] another issue I have with Democrats at this point in time. I want to emphasize that I don’t have a problem with adults being able to do what they want, but I have a problem with people pushing children to get surgeries and confusing them about their identity in this way,” Younes said.
She argued that the party misplaces its priorities on gender ideology issues while most Americans are more concerned about how to put food on their tables and tackling skyrocketing inflation, a dilemma she says pandemic-era economic shutdowns helped create.
Other lifelong Democrats have announced their exodus from the party in light of recent issues, most notably including former Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, who announced her severance from the Democratic Party last week, lambasting the organization as an “elitist cabal of warmongers driven by cowardly wokeness” that she said bends to “anti-White racism.”
Younes released a 9-part tweet that set liberals on fire with a 3-point reason behind her decision to ditch the blue:
“First and foremost, the Democrats advocacy for censorship poses a fundamental threat to our Western Democratic values. The Democrats have aligned themselves with corporate powers, namely big tech, to silence journalists, scientists, and others who depart from the government’s messaging on various topics, from Covid to race ideology to gender identity. If people cannot dissent from the powers that be without fear of reprisal–loss of a paypal account or a job, or an influential social media account–we aren’t really living in a free society.
Second, Democrats’ unequivocal support for covid restrictions, from lockdowns to mask and vaccine mandates, and refusal to renounce these measures as inhumane and ineffective, is deeply concerning. They see no problem with authoritarian measures that have caused unprecedented learning loss, mental & physical health problems, & more. They have contributed to the denigration of science by touting CDC studies that are blatant Soviet-style propaganda designed to keep the population from realizing they were deceived on mask mandates and lockdowns.
Third, they have embraced a bizarre ideology that encourages children to hate their bodies, and to seek surgical and hormonal solutions to what are very likely temporary, normal adolescent discomfort with changes that occur to the body during teenage years. This ideology is so bizarre, so unscientific, and so cruel the only plausible explanation I can come up with is that Democrats have aligned themselves once more with corporate interests–pharma and medical industrial complex–and duped Leftists into thinking this approach is enlightened. And then there’s inflation, which is through the roof, increasing tensions with Russia that could lead to war, and Biden’s repeated abuse of his executive power.
If the Democrats do not lose badly in the midterms & in 2024, they will be sent the message that Americans are by and large ok with all of this. That is why I’ll be voting R next month.”
