In a shocking case that exposes the rampant abuse of America’s immigration system, several current and former Louisiana law enforcement officials have been charged in a brazen visa fraud scheme. According to a press release from the United States Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Louisiana, these officials allegedly conspired to fabricate police reports to help illegal aliens fraudulently obtain U-Visas—a program designed for victims of crimes who assist law enforcement.
The accused include Chad Doyle, Chief of Police for Oakdale; Michael Slaney, Marshal of the Ward 5 Marshal’s Office in Oakdale; Glynn Dixon, Chief of Police for Forest Hill; and Tebo Onishea, former Chief of Police for Glenmora. Alongside Chandrakant Patel of Oakdale, these men are accused of orchestrating a criminal conspiracy to “commit Visa fraud, namely a nonimmigrant U-Visa.”
The indictment reveals a disturbing scheme in which “Patel, Doyle, Slaney, Dixon, Onishea, and others, authored, facilitated, produced and authenticated false police reports in several central Louisiana parishes.” These reports falsely listed individuals as victims of armed robberies, allowing them to apply for U-Visas under fraudulent pretenses.
How the Scheme Worked:
Illegal aliens seeking U-Visas would allegedly “contact Patel, or another facilitator who would then contact Patel, to be named as ‘victims’ in police reports alleging that an armed robbery had occurred.” In exchange for “thousands of dollars,” Patel and his co-conspirators—including the law enforcement officials—would “write false police reports naming the Aliens as victims of alleged armed robberies” and certify fraudulent U-Visa applications.
Even more damning, the indictment alleges that “Patel did corruptly give, offer, and agree to pay an agent of the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office the sum of $5,000 on February 18, 2025, intending to influence and reward said agent in exchange for a fraudulent police report.”
Where’s the Liberal Media Outrage?
While this case highlights yet another way illegal immigrants and corrupt officials exploit America’s broken immigration system, the liberal media remains eerily silent. Where are the front-page exposes from CNN, MSNBC, or The Washington Post? If this were a story about ICE enforcing immigration laws, they’d be screaming about “cruelty” and “xenophobia.” But when actual fraud is committed to benefit illegal aliens, they look the other way.

President Donald Trump has long warned about the dangers of fraudulent immigration claims and the need for strict vetting. This case proves his warnings were right yet again. Under the Biden administration, immigration enforcement has been weakened, creating opportunities for scams like this to flourish. Trump’s policies prioritized law and order, cracking down on fraud and ensuring visas went to legitimate applicants—not criminals gaming the system.
