Upon hearing the news, the organizers and attendees of the RNC were shocked and saddened.
Witnesses say that the victim was a well-known resident of the neighborhood, who lived in a tent camp and was known by the nickname “Jehovah.” He had a pit bull named Isis and was a familiar face to many in the community. This tragedy occurred less than a mile from the security perimeter of the RNC, causing concern and fear among those attending the convention.
Despite this unfortunate incident, the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #9, which represents officers from Columbus, Ohio, who were providing extra security at the RNC, released a statement ensuring that no officers were hurt during the shooting. It also stated that President Brian Steel had been in contact with the Wisconsin State F.O.P. President Ryan Windorff to offer support.

This news comes at a time when the country is already reeling from an assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump just a few days prior in Butler, Pennsylvania. Despite the danger and apparent hatred towards him, Trump has not let it dampen his mood. In fact, he and his campaign were still in a celebratory mood after it was announced that Ohio GOP Sen. J.D. Vance would be his vice presidential nominee for the November elections.
