Chris Wallace To Buttigieg About Border Crisis Lies: ‘Why Not Be Straight With Folks?’

Pete Buttigieg was once a candidate for president, and like many of the dozens of Democratic hopefuls, he now finds himself part of the Biden administration. Buttigieg now serves as the secretary of transportation and appears to fully take his talking points directly from Biden as he too argued the pricey infrastructure bill is about rebuilding American infrastructure despite only a small percentage of the $2.2 trillion dollar bill being actually allocated to things like roads and bridges.

In another surprising interview from Chris Wallace Sunday, The Fox News host grilled Butigeig Sunday on why he and Biden is choosing to lie to the people:

“I want to start with a fact check of how the Biden administration is selling this plan. You all like to say that U.S. infrastructure is ranked 13th in the world, but our colleague Chuck Lane of “The Washington Post” did some interesting research. Three of the nations ahead of us on that list are Singapore, Hong Kong, and the United Arab Emirates, which are tiny states and hardly comparable. Of the 10 largest countries geographically, including China and Russia, the U.S. actually ranks first. So, Secretary, not to say that everything is fine, but why not be straight about the actual conditions here in the U.S. to the American people?”

Buttigieg lead with the lie and doubled down on the idea that it’s about anything other than agendas, “Well, the American people already know that our infrastructure needs a lot of work. That’s one of the reasons why there’s such strong support for the president’s American Jobs Plan.”

That’s when Wallace hit the politicians with a clip showing Buttigieg claiming that the bill will create 19 million new jobs- which is a lie:

“The American Jobs Plan is about a generational investment. It’s going to create 19 million jobs. And we’re talking about economic growth that’s going to go on for years and years.” Buttigieg claimed in the clip.

Wallace corrects Democrats’ phony stats “but it turns out the study you’re citing from Moody’s Analytics says the economy will add 16.3 million jobs without the infrastructure bill, and 2.7 million more with it. So it doesn’t, as you said last Sunday, create 19 million jobs.”

“Again, Secretary Buttigieg, why misled folks?” Wallace questioned.

Buttigieg awkwardly thanks the reporter for correcting him, “Well, you’re right, I should have been more precise. The 19 million jobs that will be created are more than the jobs that will be created if we don’t do the plan. And it’s very important to make this point, as you’ve just showed us.”

“Right, but 2 million — 2 million is not 19 million,” Wallace jabbed.

Buttigieg continues to try an argue the numbers but Wallace does not let up. The Democrat tries to talk over the anchor and the two get involved in a civial but heated exchange. Wallace did not let the Buutigeig slide on his phony ‘mis-quoteing’ of just how many jobs the infrastructure bill will create.

Buttigieg tries to explain, “Look, there are a lot of different analyses about just how many million jobs this is going to create. I saw a Georgetown study, I think it said an investment of this type will create or save 10 to 15 million —”

Wallace interrupted, “But, Secretary, you’re the one who recited Moody’s —”

The two continued to cut each other off before Wallace finally was able to make his point- the administration has lied about the bill. They continue to lie. But Buttigieg refused to cave and tell the truth for once.
