CNN has a tendency to shut down anyone who speaks the truth and challenges their narrative. In a recent interview, CNN anchor Brianna Keilar went to extreme lengths to avoid facing the facts about the Biden administration’s disastrous handling of the border crisis. During her conversation with Rep. Beth Van Duyne of Texas about a border security bill, Keilar dominated the conversation and refused to let the representative speak.
The bill, known as H.R. 2, passed the Republican-led House last year but has stalled in the Senate due to Democratic opposition. It aims to overhaul the U.S. asylum system, expand border walls and enforcement measures, and require all employers to use E-Verify to check the legal work status of employees.
Van Duyne, who was previously the mayor of Irving, Texas, shared her successful partnership with Immigration and Customs Enforcement in removing criminal illegal immigrants from her community. However, Keilar cited a statistic, claiming that illegal immigrants have a 45 percent lower criminal conviction rate than native-born citizens in Texas.
But this statistic is misleading. It fails to mention the lower conviction rates among illegal immigrants can be attributed to their ability to flee or not show up for hearings. When Van Duyne attempted to refute this, Keilar consistently talked over her and refused to let her speak.
Despite Keilar’s rude behavior, Van Duyne held her ground, pushing back and questioning why Keilar seemed to be defending the immigrants who had beaten up police officers. However, Keilar denied defending illegal criminals and continued to present her skewed argument about catch-and-release not working due to a judicial backlog and lack of space.
Ignoring Van Duyne’s attempts to explain otherwise, Keilar threatened to end the interview if she was not allowed to speak. Finally, after almost a minute of monologuing, she allowed Van Duyne to speak.
Using her opportunity, Van Duyne pointed out that under former President Trump, less than 1,000 illegal immigrants entered the country each day, but now the number is significantly higher. The Biden administration is using this elevated figure to argue that the Senate bill would lower the flow. But as Van Duyne aptly highlighted, raising the number of migrants to an astronomical level and then offering a compromise of 2 million migrants per year is nothing but deceptive.
She further emphasized that these are people who were never supposed to be in the country in the first place and the government cannot force Americans to accept a certain level of crime from them. This false comparison is like a retail store drastically increasing the price of an item and then offering a slight discount, marketing it as a sale.
But Keilar still tried to sell this deception, claiming that the 5,000 number may be unsatisfactory, but it will be much higher if there are no laws to prevent it. However, Van Duyne corrected her and stated that there are laws in place, to which Keilar stubbornly stuck to her false narrative.

It is clear from this interview that CNN is not interested in facts or honest discussions. They will manipulate statistics and use false comparisons to push their liberal agenda. Additionally, their anchors will aggressively shut down anyone who dares to challenge their narrative. This is not journalism; this is propaganda disguised as news.
The biased and misleading coverage by liberal media outlets like CNN only further divide our nation and prevent meaningful discussions about important issues like the border crisis. It is concerning that a major news network chooses to control the conversation rather than educate and inform their viewers. The American people deserve better. It is time for the media to be held accountable for their biased and deceptive reporting.
