Last Sunday, the weekend host of CNN, Pamela Brown, celebrated a gay activist who posted a TikTok video berating his Republican aunt, Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler (R-MO), for her speech opposing same-sex marriage.
This display of intolerance was made even worse by the fact that Brown had the liberal activist on as a guest and devoted six minutes to his agenda. Before a commercial break, Brown verbally embraced LGBT rhetoric by using the phrase “marriage equality” as she teased the segment.
The tolerance of this kind of behavior from CNN is alarming and dangerous. In an attempt to normalize this behavior, Brown and her team have taken no effort in showing respect for Congresswoman Hartzler’s views or right to express them in public without fear of attack. Not only is this unacceptable behavior from a news outlet that claims to be unbiased but it is also highly hypocritical considering how they would react if the roles were reversed.
It is concerning that CNN has become one-sided in their reporting, choosing instead to side with those who oppose traditional values and beliefs rather than providing balanced coverage on issues such as these. It seems clear then that CNN has chosen to take sides in this matter by cheerleading for an LGBT activist rather than remain neutral on the issue, something which should be expected from any credible news source.
This kind of blatant disregard for neutrality does not bode well for Americans who look to their news outlets for objective coverage on issues such as these. It also sends a dangerous message that any opposition or criticism against progressive ideologies will not be tolerated and will be met with attacks from powerful media outlets like CNN.
CNN’s treatment of Congresswoman Hartzler is nothing short of disgusting because it shows us just how far they are willing to go in order to push their own progressive agenda through cleverly crafted segments such as these. Not only does this show bias against conservative ideologies but it also exposes their true intentions behind their reporting — something which should make all Americans think twice before trusting what they report as “news” going forward.
We can only hope that other news outlets will follow suit and provide balanced coverage on issues such as these so that all Americans can get an accurate picture of current events regardless of political affiliation or ideological belief system.
