Politico reported that “remarkably durable” honeymoon for Los Angeles’s Democrat Mayor Karen Bass is endangered by an African trip during wildfires.
On Saturday, while fires raged across Los Angeles, Bass flew off to attend the inauguration of Ghana’s President. As the National Weather Service issued warnings about strong winds and “critical fire conditions,” Bass was nowhere to be found. But Morning Joe and NBC News don’t seem to have a problem with this blatant negligence.
When Bass finally returned to Los Angeles on Wednesday, a Sky News reporter confronted her at the airport, asking her if she owed the residents of LA an apology for skipping town during a crisis. For 90 seconds, Bass remained silent, refusing to answer the reporter’s repeated questions. Yet, Morning Joe only showed a small clip of this interaction, cutting it off before viewers could see the full extent of Bass’s stonewalling.
Instead, they immediately transitioned to another clip of Bass claiming she was directing all resources to the fire after her return. But why should we trust her when she couldn’t even answer a simple question about her absence?
Morning Joe and NBC News have once again shown their bias by deliberately omitting crucial information and protecting a fellow Democrat. If this had been a Republican in a similar situation, you can bet they would have played the full 90 seconds and criticized them relentlessly.
But the liberal media will do whatever it takes to cover for their own. Politico noted how Bass’s trip threatens her “remarkably durable honeymoon,” but with the support of her liberal hometown press, she can likely weather the storm.
It’s no wonder why President Trump calls them “fake news.” Their biased, one-sided reporting is a disgrace to journalism and a disservice to the American people. They should be holding politicians accountable, not covering for them.
So next time NBC News or Morning Joe tries to lecture us on journalistic integrity, remember how they conveniently edited out 90 seconds of a Democrat mayor blatantly avoiding questions about her absence during a crisis. That’s not journalism. That’s pure propaganda.
