DeSantis Announces Suspension Of Soros-Backed Goon In Florida

Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has cracked down on political corruption in the justice system, this time targeting George Soros-backed State Attorney Monique Worrell in Orange and Osceola counties. DeSantis’ decision to suspend her for “refusing to faithfully enforce Florida laws” has received support from Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody, who noted Worrell’s dangerously lenient record in comparison to other Democratic prosecutors in the state.

DeSantis has made crime a centerpiece of his 2024 presidential campaign, and by taking a hard stance against political influence, DeSantis has shown he is determined to keep Floridians safe. Judge Andrew Brain of the Ninth Judicial Circuit has been appointed to take Worrell’s place, “trusting that he will be the prosecutor that faithfully enforces the law and will keep the communities in Central Florida safe.”

Soros is a billionaire philanthropist who has donated huge sums of money to political candidates across the US. Unfortunately, his large donations often come with strings attached, as demonstrated by Worrell’s refusal to impose mandatory sentences for gun and drug crimes and allowing convicted minors to avoid jail time.

Political interference in the justice system undermines the rule of law and the principles of democracy. As DeSantis stated in his announcement, “One’s political agenda cannot trump solemn duty. Refusing to faithfully enforce the laws of Florida puts our communities in danger and victimizes innocent Floridians.”

The governor acts to protect Florida by supporting the men and women in law enforcement and promoting a strong policy to hold criminals accountable for their misconduct. This increases public trust in the justice system and ensures justice is served. Governance by a system of laws, not men, is essential to a functioning democracy, and it’s important that we have leaders such as DeSantis who will stand up to those who try to subvert it.

Soros has managed to reach into his deep pockets and affect nearly every state in the US—It’s nice to see someone put a stop to that massive power overreach.
