Let’s talk about the media’s unfair treatment of Republican leaders, specifically Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. As we all know, the liberal mainstream media has always been biased against conservative politicians, and their recent attacks on DeSantis are no exception.
Recently, MSNBC anchor Andrea Mitchell falsely accused Governor DeSantis of prohibiting children from learning about slavery and its aftermath. She insinuated that DeSantis was promoting a biased and racist agenda.
However, DeSantis argues that the state’s educational standards require the teaching of all aspects of black history, including slavery and racial discrimination. Mitchell’s accusations were based on DeSantis’ rejection of an advanced placement African American history course that contained elements of critical race theory (CRT) and queer theory.
CRT is a harmful ideology that teaches people to view every social interaction and person in terms of race. Its adherents pursue “antiracism” through ending meritocracy and objective truth and adopting race-based policies. Governor DeSantis is right to reject the use of CRT in the classroom, as it promotes a divisive and harmful view of our society.
But the liberal media’s attacks on DeSantis are not new. He has faced consistent criticism for his conservative policies and his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic. The left-leaning media is actively grooming the public to accept their agenda, and they will stop at nothing to promote their progressive ideology.
However, DeSantis remains steadfast in his commitment to promoting conservative values and policies that benefit Floridians. He has signed legislation requiring students to learn about the Ocoee Massacre, which is known as the “largest incident of voting-day violence in United States history.” This is just one example of DeSantis’ commitment to teaching accurate and complete history to Florida’s youth.
DeSantis’ press secretary, Bryan Griffin, has called for an apology from MSNBC and its affiliates for spreading false information. Griffin has also barred the network from conducting any further interviews with the governor until an apology is issued. This is a necessary move, as the media’s biased coverage of DeSantis and other conservative leaders is part of a larger effort to promote a progressive agenda and silence dissenting voices.
At this point I think we all know you can’t really trust the media. Both sides are just drilling a political angle. Unfortunately, MSNBC wasn’t the only ones we saw selling this disinformation to viewers. The View and several other members of the mainstream media are guilty as well.
