Elon Musk Fires Back at Senator Kelly: ‘You’re a Traitor’

Democratic Sen. Mark Kelly’s recent comments on CBS Mornings regarding President Donald Trump, Elon Musk, and U.S. foreign policy in Ukraine have sparked controversy, particularly among conservative circles.

Kelly, a vocal critic of the Trump administration, dismissed Elon Musk as “not a serious guy” after Musk labeled him a “traitor” for his social media posts advocating continued U.S. support for Ukraine. Kelly’s remarks, coupled with his criticism of President Trump’s approach to Ukraine, reflect a broader divide between liberal and conservative perspectives on national security and foreign policy.

During his appearance on CBS Mornings, Kelly stated, “Elon, I don’t really, you know, take him seriously. He’s not a serious guy. He’s been slashing and burning the federal government at the expense of folks that are trying to get by and live their lives, and many of those are veterans.”

This comment came in response to Musk’s role as an adviser to President Trump and his leadership in the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which has been instrumental in reducing government waste and streamlining federal operations—a cornerstone of Trump’s agenda. Kelly’s dismissal of Musk’s efforts aligns with the liberal media’s tendency to undermine the administration’s achievements, particularly in areas like government efficiency and fiscal responsibility.

Kelly also criticized President Trump’s handling of Ukraine, calling the recent Oval Office meeting between Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy a “historic mistake.” He added, “I think that’s gonna go down in history as one of the dumber things a president has ever done.”

This hyperbolic statement ignores the complexities of the situation and the administration’s strategic approach to ending the conflict. President Trump has consistently prioritized American interests, questioning the unchecked flow of U.S. taxpayer dollars to Ukraine and demanding accountability from its leadership. This pragmatic stance, often mischaracterized by the liberal media as isolationist, reflects a commitment to putting America first.

Kelly’s assertion that Trump’s relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin weakens national security is another example of liberal fear-mongering. He said, “Donald Trump looks at [Putin] as somehow like he’s his buddy. I don’t get it. It is not good for us and our national security. It makes us look weak and we are less safe because of it.” This narrative overlooks the administration’s successful diplomatic efforts, including the recent ceasefire agreement brokered by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Saudi Arabia. The 30-day ceasefire, which Ukraine has agreed to, demonstrates the administration’s ability to navigate complex international conflicts while safeguarding American interests.

Kelly’s social media post, in which he wrote, “Donald Trump is trying to weaken Ukraine’s hand and we are owed an explanation,” further underscores the liberal media’s tendency to distort the administration’s actions. President Trump’s approach to Ukraine is not about weakening the country but about ensuring that U.S. support is aligned with clear strategic objectives.

The pause in intelligence sharing, as reported by CBS News, is a calculated move to reassess the relationship and prevent further escalation—a decision that reflects prudent leadership rather than capitulation.

Elon Musk’s response to Kelly’s post—”You are a traitor”—may have been blunt, but it highlights the frustration many conservatives feel toward politicians who prioritize foreign interests over American sovereignty. Kelly’s claim that Musk, Trump, and the White House “generally don’t like anybody who has a different view on policies” is a mischaracterization. The administration welcomes constructive dialogue but remains steadfast in its commitment to policies that benefit the American people.

For Kelly, this is all just political theater. He isn’t interested in actual resolutions and progress. Recently in a showy display, Kelly posted about how and why he ‘ditched’ his Tesla and cried about all of the made-up trauma he feels whenever he goes for a ride:

Funny enough, Kelly didn’t get off of Musk’s platform (X). It’s just tribal BS to please the liberals.

The liberal media’s portrayal of President Trump’s foreign policy as reckless or weak is a disservice to the administration’s accomplishments.

From brokering historic peace agreements in the Middle East to challenging NATO allies to contribute their fair share, President Trump has consistently demonstrated strong, principled leadership. The focus on Ukraine should not overshadow these achievements or the administration’s efforts to end the conflict in a manner that prioritizes American interests.
