The Biden administration’s handling of immigration has been nothing short of disastrous. Since taking office, President Biden has dismantled the previous system – which was actually working – in favor of a new plan that is completely ineffective.
In a video interview with The Washington Post, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas admitted that the unprecedented surge of undocumented migrants crossing the Southwest border is “straining the system”.
Stop the press! Biden’s lapdog was honest for once? Well, sort of. He still tried to add a spin to reality but this was a big step for this guy. The numbers of illegal crossings skyrocket since Biden took office in January 2021. It’s nice to see him admit it, though.
According to U.S. Customs and Border Protection, 233,740 people have encountered crossing into the U.S. in November, the third-highest monthly number on record. The other two record highs also belong to Biden—So I think it’s clear; we know where the issue starts.
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton responded to Mayorkas on Thursday morning, accusing the Biden administration of “sabotaging” border security. Paxton said that under the Trump administration, the number of illegal immigrants crossing and the amount of crime associated with it were significantly lower than it is now. He also said that until the Biden administration can figure out how to manage the border correctly, he would not approve any additional funding.
There is no doubt, the current immigration system is failing to meet the needs of those crossing the border.
The Biden administration must find a way to provide humane and efficient solutions for those seeking asylum, while also doing what is necessary to protect the security of the United States.
It is clear that Biden’s current policy on immigration is not working. His plan has caused a huge strain on the system, and has led to an increase in illegal crossings and related crime.
