Former Ukrainian prosecutor Viktor Shokin said in an interview Friday with Fox News’ Brian Kilmeade that it would take “half a day” to go over all crimes he was investigating the Biden family for.
Shokin was the Ukrainian Prosecutor General until his firing in 2016, forced out by then Vice-President Joe Biden for digging into the corrupt activities of Burisma, the natural gas company in which Hunter Biden was employed, despite having little experience.
Kilmeade asked Shokin whether he thought Burisma was corrupt, to which Shokin replied, “I have no doubt there were illegal activities.”
“The criminal case had been started before me. It continued to expand. And Zlochevsky, who at the time held the post of minister, and was the founder and CEO of Burisma, started bringing in people to provide protection for him. Hunter Biden was among them. And the corruption network expanded as a result. So, yes, to answer your question, there is no doubt in my mind that Burisma was engaged in illegal activities.”
Kilmeade then asked Shokin why he thought Devon Archer, a partner of Hunter Biden, saw him as a threat. In response, Shokin stated, “He [Devon Archer] understood and so did Vice President Biden, that had I continued to oversee the Burisma investigation, we would have found the facts about the corrupt activities that they were engaging in. That included both Hunter Biden and Devon Archer and others.”
When pressed about what he suspected the Biden family might have been involved in, Shokin replied, “It would take half a day for me to discuss every single count. But I can say that Burisma illegally produced, sold and utilized gas. Zlochevsky, the founder of Burisma, recently made a plea deal with the prosecution in a case where he was accused of giving a $6 million bribe.”
Shokin’s firing was proudfully boasted of by Joe Biden, who said he had threatened to withhold aid from Ukraine.
The news of Shokin’s investigation and statements should be concerning for any American who values an equal playing field under law. Every American deserves to have their leaders held accountable for the same crimes, and no president, no matter who it is, should be excused from such a common standard.”
