Fox News Attacks DeSantis’ Campaign, Compares Him To Massive RINO [Video]

As the Republican primaries quickly approach, Fox News Hosts John Roberts and Bret Baier reflect on the failed campaign of former Republican Governor Jeb Bush and draw comparisons to the current campaign of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. Trump’s lead in the RealClearPolitics averages of more than 40 points has made it increasingly more difficult for DeSantis to gain traction in the race.

Baier concedes that he and Roberts have not even reached August yet and reports that DeSantis’ campaign crew has had to suffer a great extent with one third of the campaign staff being down-sized. Roberts further shares that a confidential campaign memo concerning the spending of big donors has been circulating in June and in July, an even greater number of staff members have been laid off allegedly due to the number of funds being spent for minimum publicity.

These tremendous losses can be attributed to DeSantis’ announcement of his presidential bid in late May which saw a great public fail with over 600,000 people originally showing interest but issues with glitches abounded nonetheless. Following this, his super PAC debuted its very first ad in April which Roberts factors to be another cause of the strain.

These events have made it increasingly more difficult for DeSantis to break ground concerning mainstream media and though he has announced to hold smaller scale events in early states, Bret Baier has yet to see the effectiveness from this new move. This mini-reboot appears almost futile in the face of the lack of traction in the polls and the numerous layoffs that have already had to be coupled with.

Watch

Though DeSantis’ campaign manager Generra Peck insists to have made “[a]dditional, aggressive steps” to “put Ron DeSantis in the strongest position to win,” early polls show him falling far behind. The reality is we now all know for sure, that you can’t trust early polling.

I have no idea if DeSantis will be the nominee or not, I just think this attack from the mainstream media is premature and their efforts to link the rebel governor to failed RINOs and establishment politicians make me uncomfortable.
