Recently, a Vermont Christian high school girls basketball team was banned from future tournaments after it refused to compete against a team with a male player who “identifies” as a girl, sparking outrage and debate on the issue of protecting girls and women’s sports from the liberal agenda.
The Vermont Principals’ Association has barred the Christian school from future tournaments, citing Vermont state law(s) that give transgender students the right to play on the team of their choice. However, this decision has been met with strong opposition from conservatives who argue that it is unfair to force female athletes to compete against biological males in sports.
Head of School Vicky Fogg of the Mid Vermont Christian School put it best when she said, “Allowing biological males to participate in women’s sports sets a bad precedent for the future of women’s sports in general.”
“Mid Vermont Christian school is disappointed with the decision of the VPA Executive Council to ban us from participation in all VPA activities,” Fogg said in a statement to Fox News Digital on Tuesday. “We intend to appeal the decision. Canceling our membership is not a solution and does nothing to deal with the very real issue of safety and fairness facing women’s sports in our beloved state. We urge the VPA to reconsider its policies, and balance the rights of every athlete in the state.”
The Trump administration had implemented a policy that prohibited transgender athletes from competing in women’s sports. However, this policy was overturned by the Biden administration, thus allowing transgender athletes to compete in women’s sports, which puts female athletes at a disadvantage and jeopardizes the fairness of the game.
It is time to take a stand and protect girls and women’s sports. We must fight the liberal agenda that is pushing to force female athletes to compete against biological males by electing officials who support pro-women policies.
