Amid the rapidly deteriorating political climate in Haiti, the Biden administration has dealt with this crisis in a disgraceful manner that resembles the reprehensible handling of the withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021. While the current situation in Haiti has resulted in an increasingly lawless country, the Biden administration has continued its pattern of abandonment by failing to take appropriate action to rescue trapped American citizens. However, one congressman, Rep. Cory Mills from Florida, has risen to the occasion and taken action to rescue ten American citizens from Haiti, providing a glimmer of hope in an otherwise dire situation.

Mills, a veteran who served in Iraq with the 82nd Airborne Division, has once again demonstrated his commitment to protecting American lives by organizing a rescue mission for the Americans trapped at the Have Faith Haiti orphanage in Port-au-Prince. In 2023, he again demonstrated his dedication to fellow Americans by facilitating the safe return of stranded citizens from Israel during a period of heightened tension in the region. These actions by Mills highlight his unwavering commitment to the safety and well-being of the American people, even when the government has failed to provide necessary support.

Mills has criticized the Biden administration for its lack of action in rescuing American citizens and its repeated pattern of abandonment.
