GOP Lawmaker Hints at Defunding Corrupt FBI At Next Budget Meeting

Recent events have exposed scandal and corruption at the highest levels of the FBI. It is no longer news that the federal organization charged with promoting justice and preventing crime has been manipulating evidence, lying to the public, and colluding with Big Tech to undermine the First Amendment rights of Americans.

In response to the scandal, Rep. Andrew Clyde (R-GA) made statements during Fox Business’s Mornings with Maria about the possibility of the Republican-led House of Representatives defunding the FBI. Clyde said: “We may have to defund her [FBI Director Wray’s] budget through the appropriations process, unless she’s going to take definitive action.”

The “Facebook Files”, recently released by House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH), exposed further evidence of the FBI’s apparent collusion with Big Tech. They show that FBI Special Agent Elvis Chan made false statements in order to hide the FBI’s efforts to have Facebook censor Hunter Biden’s laptop before the 2020 presidential election.

It is now essential for congressional members to take decisive action against this censorious political weaponization of the FBI. Rep. Jordan stated, “The FBI’s attempt to manipulate the U.S. election circa 2020 will undoubtedly go down as one of the most shameful and disturbing chapters of American history.”

The recent corruption uncovered in the FBI proves why it is necessary for Congress to take a stand against the agency’s underhanded activities and severely punish it for violating the public’s trust. The FBI has a brazen history of attempted unconstitutional censorship. It has gone as far as to intimidate media outlets for reporting factual stories and flagging threatening comments against political opponents, while pretending to protect Americans from dangerous people.

Watch

The proposed defunding shows that the GOP is fighting to return the FBI back to an impartial organization that respects the Constitution and the privacy rights of all Americans. As Rep. Jordan so aptly stated, “We must never forget this episode. We must act swiftly to prevent this type of misconduct from occurring ever again.”

To do that, Congress must be firm in its approach and make sure that the FBI is held accountable and is not allowed to continue its blatant attempts at censorship. Americans should no longer be subjected to the agency’s unethical manipulation. It’s time to put an end to the FBI’s reign of terror.
