The borders are secure, huh? I mean, that’s what the White House claimed. Yet, here we have another Democrat Governor screaming for help as illegals overwhelm their system. Massachusetts Gov Charlie Baker seems to be looking to big daddy Biden for help—Why shouldn’t he? He’s been a good little puppet and obeyed the administration’s every request.
The Boston Globe reported:
“Governor Charlie Baker implored President Biden to provide “urgent assistance” to help resettle thousands of migrants who have streamed into Massachusetts in recent months, asking for increased housing and employment benefits, as well as funding for local nonprofits helping them.
The governor’s request, made Monday, comes at a time when the state’s homeless shelters are so overwhelmed by the influx of migrants — most entering the country at the US-Mexico border — that the Baker administration has resorted to placing approximately 100 families, many from Central America and Haiti, in hotels.
In an interview on GBH radio last week, Baker called the scale of immigration at the southern border a “crisis.” “The numbers are staggering,” he said, “and they are going to affect lots of states, including ours.”
Will Biden answer his calls? Likely not. Chicago, New York, and several other places around the US ran by Democrats have demanded Biden help them deal with the immigration crisis. While Biden has offered bandaids (money for their trouble) he has not offered to fix the actual problem.
According to NYP last month, “the total number of migrant deaths at the U.S. southern border fiscal year 2022 total 856 – the highest and deadliest ever on record.
CBP data also shows that there have already been 25 migrant deaths recorded in fiscal year 2023 thus far. Fiscal year 2023 began on Oct. 1.
Those numbers show there were 227,547 migrant encounters in September. That figure is the highest September total in DHS history, and a massive increase over prior Septembers: 192,000 in Sept. 2021; 57,674 in Sept. 2020; and 52,546 in Sept. 2019.”
While the left likes to blame restates for sending immigrants to their states and cities, I would like to remind everyone that the US government has been doing a better job ‘relocating’ migrants than those states could ever hope to afford to do. Lawmakers like Bakers are crying to the hand that dealt them this hand.
