Ana Navarro proposed moving illegal migrants away from major U.S. cities on “The View” on Friday. She argued that the U.S. is wide enough to spread these people out and let them settle elsewhere, even if the suburban and rural areas have less money and resources. Recently, officials have encountered over 1.9 million migrants at the U.S.-Mexico border and Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has started busing them to politicians who are largely Democrats.
Gee… If only lawmakers had thought to do that. Oh wait, they did and the left wing media dumped all over them. The cast also never discussed how to slow the flow of illegal immigrants but, it’s ‘The View’.
“They [illegal migrants] need to be resettled elsewhere,” Navarro stated. Fellow “View” co-host Sara Haines agreed, adding “They need to be spread out. This is such a massive country.” Joy Behar further emphasized the impact of the current migrant crisis with global warming and climate change, noting how “people can’t live in certain parts of this world.”
Unfortunately, the larger cities in the U.S. have been taken by storm with migrants and have been unable to provide shelter with their limited resources. New York City Mayor Eric Adams outlined the dire issue in his city, saying “this will destroy New York City” and claiming there already isn’t enough room for more. The city has already spent $1.5 billion to house over 100,000 migrants and estimate to spend $12 billion over the next three years to build an environment to accommodate them. Similarly, Chicago allocated $51 million to bused migrants in the past year and are using their O’Hare International Airport as shelter for the 13,500 that have already arrived.
Although it may seem daunting, Navarro wishes to spread these people out over the nation in order to provide timely and fair assistance. Navarro recognizes that California alone is 161,000 square miles, and the U.S in total contains nearly three million. The government must focus on creating more resources such as shelters, funds, and most importantly, opportunity for these people in order to ensure they are taken care of. It is evident our current system of dealing with this mass influx of migrants is not enough—it is time the U.S. advocates for the undocumented immigrants and provide them with the same support it has given to the many citizens before them.
