The nation is currently embroiled into a controversy sparked by Governor Greg Abbott (R-TX). In an attempt to secure his state’s southern border, he has deployed marine barriers to the Rio Grande – an action that has been met with scorn from some Democrats and the liberal media. Chief among those perpetuating this outrage is MSNBC’s Joy Reid, who has lashed out at Abbott with claims that he wants to cause “death to migrants including women and children.”
In a Monday talk with radical leftwing MSNBC contributor Julian Castro, Reid suggested Abbott was attempting to bring harm to migrants frantically attempting to enter Texas. “Let’s talk about what’s happening here. This appears to be an attempt to cause death to migrants including women and children,” Reid suggested. Castro was of course eager to agree with Reid regarding the barbarian nature of Abbott’s efforts in securing the border. “Yes, it is, Joy. This is sick stuff,” Castro responded, claiming the governor was engaging in “performative cruelty… actively trying to harm people.”
The gun-jumping and self-righteous indignation of the Democrats and the liberal media is more of a reflection of their own irresponsibility than concern for the well-being of migrants. Since May, when Title 42 was lifted, the number of border crossings into Texas has plummeted, meaning the federal approach in adhering to the Texas border has been effective.
Yet Democrats had rather focus their energies in tearing down the efforts of Governor Abbott than addressing the ongoing issue of immigration reform. For them, Abbott’s actions aren’t about solving the problem – they’re about shaming and attacking him for attempting to make the state more secure, all to appease a liberal base all-too-eager to point the finger at self-defending Republicans.
Joy Reid’s comments explicitly demonstrate the ethos of the modern-day Democratic party. Reid, and everyone like her, fails to realize that the Biden administration is what’s caused the humanitarian crisis at the border. His idiotic administration removed all of the safety checks and opened the borders. Essentially, it calls for a free-for-all all without putting a reasonable structure in place to help people obtain legal citizenship and screen out criminals.
In response, people are making that dangerous trek believing that they’ll just be granted citizenship upon arrival.
Liberal-logic. Rather than engaging in the difficult work of providing tangible solutions to complex problems, they instead take to the media to attack their political foes with baseless accusations that rely solely on emotion. Those who make up the Democratic party have become experts in this kind of fervent discourse in a desperate attempt to distract from their own empty agenda.
The people of America deserve better.
