White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre has once again put herself in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons. During a recent news conference, she committed a major mistake that not only took social media by storm but also showed just how incompetent she is at her job.
Jean-Pierre, who is often referred to as “KJP,” has a track record of making blunders, whether it’s spreading false information about President Joe Biden or smearing former President Donald Trump with deliberate distortions. And this time, she seemingly forgot what year one of the most significant events in American history took place – the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
During the news conference, CBS News reporter Weijia Jiang asked Jean-Pierre about Trump’s association with far-right provocateur Laura Loomer and her recent racist comments about Vice President Kamala Harris. It was a softball question that seemingly invited Jean-Pierre to criticize Trump and his supporters as racists and conspiracy theorists.
Instead of jumping on the opportunity, Jean-Pierre went off on a tangent, bringing up Loomer’s comments in a social media post from last year that blamed the 2001 terrorist attacks on then-Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld.
But it was Jean-Pierre’s subsequent statement that caught everyone’s attention. “Many of us have personal stories of that day – 9/11 of 2021,” she said. The problem? It was a slip of the tongue, and she was 20 years off. Social media erupted in a flurry of mockery and ridicule, calling out Jean-Pierre for her lack of basic knowledge about one of the most significant events in American history.

While it’s evident that Jean-Pierre didn’t actually think 9/11 happened in 2021, her mistake highlights a bigger issue – the emptiness of the criticisms that often come from the White House podium.
As a seasoned press secretary, Jean-Pierre is well-versed in spewing Democratic talking points about Trump without any real connection to her own thoughts or beliefs. And for many in the establishment media, as long as whatever is said makes Trump look bad, that’s all that matters.
I remember 9/11/2021 like it was 3 years ago✊????

But this blunder goes beyond just a simple slip of the tongue. It exposes the lack of substance in the constant attacks on Trump and the baseless narrative that his supporters are all racists and conspiracy theorists. Jean-Pierre’s mistake is a clear indication of how reflexive and empty these criticisms are.
In the end, Jean-Pierre’s blunder may have been just that – a mistake. But it also serves as a reminder of how incompetent, dishonest, and agenda-driven the White House press secretary actually is. And with a track record of constant gaffes, it’s clear that Jean-Pierre is not fit for her position and should be held accountable for her unprofessionalism.
