The recent attack on Israel by Iran was a disturbing and surreal sight to behold. Nearly 300 drones and missiles were launched from inside the Islamic Republic, with their proxies in Yemen, Iraq, and Lebanon joining in the assault. The sky over Jerusalem’s Temple Mount, a sacred site for Jews, lit up with the missiles’ bright lights as they rained down upon the holy city.

It was a truly horrifying scene, and one that was captured on video. In the midst of this chaos, Israel stood strong, with their Iron Dome defense system successfully intercepting the majority of the drones and missiles launched at them. It was a testament to the country’s strength and resilience in the face of such aggression.

While Iran may have seen this attack as a reason to celebrate, it was actually a futile and poorly executed attempt. The United States, along with Israel, successfully shot down over 70 drones and three ballistic missiles, preventing them from causing any major damage. In fact, only minor damage was inflicted on an Israeli military base, and 31 people were injured, with one 7-year-old girl suffering from shrapnel wounds.

But this attack was not an isolated incident. It was just a continuation of the ongoing conflict that began when Hamas, a Palestinian militant group, started the unprovoked Gaza war on October 7th. In that attack, over 1,200 innocent Israelis were killed, tortured, and taken as hostages. And yet, the sympathizers of Hamas choose to turn a blind eye to these brutal acts of terror, focusing only on the retaliation from Israel.

It is a sad truth that terrorists often use innocent civilians as shields and pawns in their twisted agendas. In this case, Hamas started the conflict and then hid among the civilian population, making it difficult for Israel to respond without causing harm to innocent lives. But despite these challenges, Israel stood strong and resolute in the face of aggression, defending its people and land.

The Biden administration, along with various other countries, stands with Israel and condemns the unrelenting attacks by terrorist organizations like Hamas. The Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, has vowed to protect his nation and its people, stating, “We intercepted, we repelled, together we shall win.” It is clear that Israel will not back down from defending itself against those who seek to destroy it.

Iran, on the other hand, seems to be doing what terrorists do best – hit and run. In a statement to the United Nations, they suggested that the attacks may be over, but with a warning that they would respond even more severely if Israel were to make another “mistake.” This is nothing but empty posturing from a country that is blatantly targeting innocent lives and using them as pawns in their game of terror.

In the midst of all this chaos and violence, let us not forget to pray for Israel. The sacred land is under constant threat, and it is only by the grace of God that they have managed to withstand these attacks. As prophesied in 2 Peter 3:10, the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and the heavens will pass away with a roar. Let us hope and pray that this day is not near, but in the meantime, let us stand in solidarity with Israel and condemn the cowardly acts of terror perpetrated by groups like Hamas. The fate of our world may very well depend on it.
