In a stunning and unanimous decision, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled Thursday that the federal government must facilitate the return of alleged MS-13 gang member Kilmar Abrego Garcia to the United States after he was deported to El Salvador’s notorious CECOT prison. The ruling, which had no dissenting opinions, comes after a lower court judge, Paula Xinis of the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland, demanded the Trump administration bring Garcia back, claiming his deportation was an “administrative error.”
But here’s what the liberal media won’t tell you: Garcia isn’t just some random immigrant caught in a bureaucratic mix-up. In 2019, he was captured alongside multiple MS-13 members who identified him as a high-ranking member of the violent gang responsible for countless murders, rapes, and drug trafficking operations across the U.S. Yet, instead of applauding President Trump’s efforts to keep dangerous criminals out of American communities, the courts—and the left-wing press—are bending over backward to bring this alleged gangster back.
Politico, ever eager to spin the narrative in favor of open borders, reported the Supreme Court’s decision as a rebuke to the Trump administration, framing Garcia as a victim of persecution rather than a threat to public safety. The court’s ruling stated that the government must “facilitate” Garcia’s release from Salvadoran custody and ensure his case is handled as if he had never been deported. But why should American taxpayers foot the bill for the return of someone with alleged ties to one of the most brutal criminal organizations in the Western Hemisphere?
Chief Justice John Roberts initially granted a temporary stay on Judge Xinis’ order, giving the Trump administration time to appeal. President Trump rightly sought Supreme Court intervention, recognizing the absurdity of a federal judge dictating immigration enforcement to the executive branch. Yet, despite the administration’s efforts, the high court ultimately sided with the lower court, demanding Garcia’s return.
This case is yet another example of how activist judges and the liberal media prioritize the rights of criminal aliens over the safety of American citizens. MS-13 has terrorized communities from Long Island to Los Angeles, yet the left continues to fight for their members to remain in the U.S.—or, in this case, return after deportation.

President Trump has made it clear: America will no longer be a dumping ground for the world’s most dangerous criminals. But with rulings like this, the judicial system is undermining that mission at every turn.
