The media is all over this bogus story about the rivalry between Donald J Trump and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and I don’t think we need to buy into it. Here’s the hook, Trump called the Florida Governor “Ron DeSanctimonious” during a rally where he was teasing about his option to run for reelection in 2024.
What is a good move? No. Trump still fully supports DeSantis but he is the most popular GOP Governor in the nation and thus it’s in Trump’s nature to take jabs at him.
Trump was immediately slapped with criticism from the right for using lockerroom tactics just before a midterm. DailyWire’s Matt Walsh was one of the many big-name conservative commentaries who lashed out:
“DeSantis is an extremely effective conservative governor who has had real policy wins and real cultural wins. Trump isn’t going to be able to take this one down with a dumb nickname. He better have more than that up his sleeve,” Walsh wrote on Twitter.

Not 24 Hours after Trump branded DeSantis with a new nickname, he was in Florida promoting the Governor’s reelection. During a rally where he was there to support Marco Rubio for reelection but didn’t forget to remind the crowd that DeSantis is still the number one pick for Governor:
“With thousands of proud, hardworking American patriots, incredible people — just two days from now, the people of Florida are going to reelect the wonderful, the great, a friend of mine, Marco Rubio to the United States Senate. Are you going to reelect Ron DeSantis as your governor of the state?”
“And you’re going to elect an incredible slate of true MAGA warriors to Congress.”
Now here is the bone I have with the media; They have taken this minor misstep and deemed it an all-out war between the two republicans—And they have had some success. I’ve seen voters online declaring their allegiance to either Trump or DeSantis. Both sides have great arguments.
The country was better under Trump and there is no doubt about that. Many voters would love nothing more than to get back to those times. Some argue that DeSantis stands a better chance of getting in without the drama, and they’re not wrong. I’ve also seen some arguments that DeSantis is younger—Also valid. Yet, while DeSantis might be the most popular Governor he’s not Trump.
DeSantis has also repeatedly stated that he has no intentions of running against Trump. Both candidates would make a fine option for voters and even if they both ran, only one can be the GOP nominee. It’s a win-win for voters either way so don’t bother yourselves arguing over it. You would just be feeding into the media’s narrative.
Besides, that’s a battle for another day. Right now, the goal is to secure the majority to have investigations launched directly at the swamp. A lot will happen before 2024 and the left would love nothing more than to draw the attention away form themselves.
