Mexico Complains About Sudden Border Crossers From The US- No Joke!

Mexico has gotten a tiny taste of what the US has had to deal with as some American hop the border to fill up under Biden’s rising gas prices. Guess what? They’re not happy and want it to stop.

Reuter’s reported:

“Mexico, which has been subsidizing gasoline to soften price spikes, said on Saturday the policy would not apply in the U.S. border region this week, citing shortages as more Americans drive south to fill their tanks.

The suspension of the subsidy from April 2-8 covers cities in the border states of Tamaulipas, Nuevo Leon, Coahuila, Chihuahua, Sonora and Baja California, including Tijuana, one of the world’s busiest border crossings.

Mexico’s finance ministry said in a statement there was a gasoline shortage in the area “from an imbalance between supply and demand.””

I was skeptical, but after looking it up Americans are filling up for half the cost (sometimes more) that they would pay locally.

On TikTok, Julio Vaquero, a resident of San Diego, just 17 miles (23km) from the border, posted a video showing how he filled up his Honda Civic in Tijuana for $40.

“Eight hundred pesos, filled it up. Full tank,” he said, showing the petrol station’s pump display and his car’s full fuel gauge.

The short TikTok has over 1,900 likes.

He told the BBC that one week later it cost him $70 to fill up in California.

Mr Vaquero lives about 20 minutes from Tijuana and tends to visit every other month, but he said if prices keep going the way they are, he’s going to start making weekly trips to Mexico for cheaper petrol. Which, if you’re that close I can’t blame you.

Mexico complaining about Americans crossing their border? Wow, how things have changed—Right? I imagine it will only continue to get worse until the Biden regime is voted out of office.
