MSNBC’s Mehdi Hasan is sounding the alarm about the possibility that former President Donald Trump could attempt to flee the country ahead of his looming trial dates. While liberal mainstream media pundits dismiss any notion of this being a genuine possibility, Hasan is determined to draw attention to the ex-President’s possible flight risk.
“He’s afraid of the law,” Hasan said on “Morning Joe” Thursday. “I genuinely think we need to start having a discussion about whether this guy is a flight risk.”
Trump was hit with a grand jury indictment Monday for attempting to overturn the 2020 presidential election in Georgia. Eighteen of Trump’s allies, including Rudy Giuliani, were also indicted in the matter. The former president was charged with violating the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act, among other violations.
Additional indictments were later found for classified documents found at Mar-a-Lago, for supposedly attempting to meddle with the federal election, and for falsifying business records. Hasan’s concern seems to stem from a comment President Trump gave his followers recently: “I wish I was in France right now, not in America.”
While this may have been a joke, Hasan made sure to point out that “nothing is off the table with this guy.”
It seems Democrats will stop at nothing to try and drag President Trump’s name through the mud before he leaves office, as their countless attempts to impeach and indict him have been nothing short of malicious. It appears that those on the left are so desperate to make sure Trump doesn’t remain in the public sphere that they are willing to blame him for any and all crimes.
The former President has been audited by the IRS since 2002, and not one ha’s been found guilty of any wrongdoing. This still doesn’t matter to the left, though, and since they can’t seem to put together a valid case against him, they’re determined to frame him so it looks as if he’s guilty of something.
The accusations against Trump aren’t founded in any evidence and are merely used to demonize and attempt to destroy his reputation. The American people will see right through this transparent attempt to silence him, and will continue to recognize him as the most recognizable politician in the world.
