During a fiery House hearing on Wednesday, FBI Director Kash Patel delivered a masterclass in shutting down liberal hysteria when Democratic Rep. Chrissy Houlahan (D-PA) tried to strong-arm him into launching a politically motivated investigation into the Trump administration over a fabricated “leak” scandal. The leftist media, always eager to smear President Trump and his allies, had been frothing at the mouth over a report from The Atlantic’s Jeffrey Goldberg, an anti-Trump activist masquerading as a journalist, who claimed he was “accidentally” added to a secure Signal chat involving Trump officials discussing military strategies against Iran-backed Houthi terrorists.
Instead of acting like a responsible journalist, Goldberg did what the deep state-aligned media always does—he weaponized the information, took screenshots, and ran to his keyboard to spin it as some nefarious “war plans” leak. Team Trump swiftly debunked the narrative, clarifying that no such plans were discussed, but Goldberg and his colleague Shane Harris doubled down, publishing selective details to embarrass the administration. Their scheme backfired when their own reporting exposed their dishonesty—first calling it “war plans” for maximum hysteria, then downgrading it to “attack plans” when their exaggeration was exposed.
But Houlahan, playing her role as a Democratic mouthpiece, ignored the facts and demanded Patel launch an investigation. “Now that another day has passed, do you think it’s time for the FBI to open an investigation (into the leak)?” she asked, clearly hoping to trap Patel into endorsing another witch hunt against Trump.
Patel, refusing to take the bait, calmly responded, “I’m not going to comment on that.”
A flustered Houlahan, unused to being denied her partisan theatrics, stammered, “Because you’re the director of the FBI, you don’t believe it’s appropriate to comment on that?”
Patel, ever the professional, schooled her: “Because there’s a process in place. There’s ongoing litigation, and The National Security Council is reviewing this matter. And I’m not going to discuss any open or closed investigations.”
But Houlahan, like a petulant child, kept whining: “That ongoing investigation…The lawsuit literally happened today or yesterday afternoon. And the idea that you don’t have an opinion on this at this point is frustrating to me.”
That’s when Patel had enough. “No, it’s not. I’m not going to prejudge any matter, and the men and women of the FBI will call the balls and strikes. Not you,” he fired back, leaving Houlahan speechless.
Kash Patel just SHUT DOWN this leftist.

The exchange was yet another example of Democrats and their media allies trying—and failing—to manufacture scandals against President Trump. Instead of focusing on real threats, they obsess over phantom conspiracies, proving once again that their only agenda is to undermine a strong America-first administration.
