It’s no secret that Big Tech companies like Twitter have been censoring free speech with impunity. It’s a growing problem, one that’s been boiling for years now, and it’s about time we had a serious conversation about it.
Recently, during a House Oversight and Government Accountability Committee hearing, Congressman James Comer of Kentucky confronted ex-Twitter Head of Trust and Safety Yoel Roth over Tweets that were deemed to be critical of Republicans.
Roth and a couple of other Twitter executives were responsible for censoring the New York Post’s initial Hunter Biden laptop story, and this kind of censorship has become a problem across the social media platform. Roth was part of a special working group that monitored high-profile accounts, and the Libs of TikTok account was suspended seven times under Twitter’s “Hateful Conduct policy” despite not actually breaking any rules.

When asked if he thought all conservatives were Nazis, Roth answered: “I regret the language that I used in some of my former Tweets, but, yes, I did post that. Certainly not, sir.” Despite this, Trump was permanently suspended from the platform in the wake of the Jan. 6 Capitol riot. Twitter executives noted the “context surrounding” of Trump’s tweets “over the course of the election and frankly last 4+ years,” as the reason for his ban.
It’s clear that Big Tech companies like Twitter are out to manipulate the media to their own ends, censoring those who disagree with them and silencing voices. This is unacceptable and it’s our job to stand up and make sure that our voices are heard. It’s our job to make sure that stories like this keep circulating and that those in power are held accountable.
We need to fight against these Big Tech companies that are trying to control the narrative, and it’s up to us to make sure that our voices are heard. We can’t let them get away with this kind of censorship, and we must make sure that our country is a place where free speech is valued and respected.
I’m sure by now these guys realize that they could all face jail time but what I want to know is, who pulled the trigger. These execs are just fall guys in my opinion. We already know that the Biden administration and the DNC played a huge role in the coverup. I hope this hearing dives deeper than a handful of liberal executives.
