Nurse Chelsea Walsh appeared on “Primetime” with Jesse Watters to discuss her past interactions with Ryan Wesley Routh, the man accused of plotting to assassinate former President Donald Trump on Sunday at the Trump National Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida. During her interview, Walsh revealed disturbing details about Routh’s violent tendencies and her professional duty to report him.
According to Walsh, she first met Routh while engaged in humanitarian efforts in Ukraine. However, as she got to know him better, she began to notice his volatile and erratic behavior. As a trained mandated reporter, Walsh felt it was necessary to alert the authorities about Routh’s potential threat to others.
“I determined after knowing Ryan for a while that he was a threat to others. So I felt that it was necessary that he be reported to the proper authorities,” Walsh stated. She also shared that she had not heard from any agency until the day of her interview.
Walsh described Routh as a skilled con artist who was able to manipulate members of the Ukrainian military and deceive charitable organizations. She explained that he became involved in a variety of activities, including drones, weapons, and humanitarian aid, despite not having any background or expertise in these areas.
However, what was most concerning to Walsh was Routh’s fascination with assassinating world leaders. “He wanted to kill most world leaders. He always talked about wanting to kill Putin, Kim Jong Un. He developed plans, he talked about Biden and Trump,” the nurse revealed. According to Walsh, Routh’s violent thoughts were not limited to just Trump, as he also expressed a desire to harm other prominent political figures.
During a separate interview on “The Lead With Jake Tapper,” New York Times reporter Thomas Gibbons shared his experience interacting with Routh. He explained that he had met Routh through a series of international contacts, originating from his time reporting in Kabul. Gibbons expressed his shock and surprise upon hearing about Routh’s alleged plot to assassinate Trump.
In addition to Walsh and Gibbons’ accounts, Routh’s own online presence revealed his extremist ideology and fascination with violence. According to Fox 29, Routh’s social media pages were filled with disturbing content, including calls to violence and images of weapons and ammunition.
Overall, these revelations about Routh’s past behavior and intentions paint a chilling picture of his dangerous mindset. It is a reminder of the importance of reporting any potential threats to authorities and staying vigilant against extremist ideologies that can lead to violence.
