Former Obama-era Attorney General Eric Holder resurfaced on MSNBC this week, peddling baseless fear and outright lies about Texas Republicans’ efforts to redraw congressional districts. In a desperate attempt to smear the GOP, Holder went as far as suggesting that if Republicans retain control of the House after the 2026 midterms, they might refuse to certify the 2028 presidential election. His hyperbolic rhetoric reveals the Democrats’ real concern: losing their grip on power.
Holder’s comments came as Texas GOP lawmakers work to redraw district lines, a move that could secure five additional Republican seats in Congress. Rather than engaging in honest debate, Holder resorted to fear tactics, claiming, “This is not a Texas problem. Yeah, the focus of this issue is Texas, but this is a national problem.” He then spun a doomsday scenario, warning, “If somehow, some way Republicans are able to hold on to the House next year… you put in a bunch of partisan hacks who are not supposed to be in the House, who are there because of gerrymandering… and then put at risk the possibility that that body would not certify who the next president was.”
This is pure projection from a party that has spent years weaponizing institutions to suppress conservative voices. The real threat to election integrity comes from Democrats, who have pushed mail-in ballot chaos, opposed voter ID laws, and openly advocated for packing the Supreme Court. Meanwhile, President Donald Trump has consistently fought for fair and secure elections, calling out the left’s attempts to manipulate the system.
Holder’s fearmongering is nothing new—Democrats have long relied on scare tactics to justify their power grabs. Whether it’s falsely accusing Republicans of “voter suppression” or spinning conspiracy theories about election certification, the left’s playbook is predictable. The truth is, Republicans are working to ensure that every legal vote counts, while Democrats seek to exploit loopholes to tilt elections in their favor.
The liberal media, of course, amplifies these lies without scrutiny. MSNBC provides a platform for Holder’s hysteria while ignoring the real issues: skyrocketing inflation, open borders, and the Democrats’ radical agenda. Instead of addressing these failures, they distract with hyperbolic warnings about democracy “under threat” whenever Republicans exercise their constitutional rights.
