Schumer, with Sharpton’s eager assistance, tried to frame Trump’s legal battles as a “constitutional crisis,” a laughable assertion given the Left’s relentless lawfare against the former president. The transcript from Real Clear Politics reveals Schumer’s hyperbolic rhetoric:
AL SHARPTON: Immigration advocates have been warning we are on the verge of a constitutional crisis. Has that crisis arrived, Senator?
SEN. CHUCK SCHUMER: Yes! It has, unfortunately. Because what? Trump wants to be king. A king doesn’t have a constitution. A king just does whatever he wants and beyond. He just goes along with them. They’re trying to intimidate judges. This is not the first time or the second. They’ve said they want to impeach judges. They said they’re going to go after judges who don’t agree with them. That is so against the Constitution.
Schumer’s theatrics are nothing more than projection. While he accuses Trump of undermining judicial independence, it was Schumer who stood on the steps of the Supreme Court and issued a direct threat to sitting justices, saying, “You have released the whirlwind, and you will pay the price.
