Shocking Video: Judge Revokes Man’s Bond During Court Call After He Makes a Major Mistake

During a remote court hearing in Michigan, a man named Corey Harris made a shocking mistake that left Judge Cedric Simpson stunned. Harris was charged with driving with a suspended license and was supposed to appear in court through a video call on May 15. However, he showed up while he was driving his car.

“Mr. Harris, are you driving?” Judge Simpson asked in disbelief, as seen in a video posted to social media.

“Actually, I’m pulling into my doctor’s office, actually,” Harris replied. “So…just give me one second. I’m parking right now.”

After a moment of pause, the judge asked, “You stationary?” to which Harris responded, “I’m pulling in right now, at this second…Yes, I am.”

Confused by Harris’ actions, the judge questioned the defendant’s attorney, “What are we doing?”

Harris’ attorney then requested for the case to be adjourned for up to four weeks.

But the judge was still puzzled, “So maybe I don’t understand something. This is a [case of] driving while license suspended?”

“Yes, your honor,” Harris’ lawyer confirmed.

The judge then pointed out, “And he was just driving, and he doesn’t have a license.”

As Harris’s mouth hung open in disbelief, he muttered, “Ummm…” while his attorney agreed with the judge.

Reviewing Harris’s record, the judge noted, “He doesn’t have a license. He’s suspended, and he was just driving.”

Harris uttered another “Ummm…” as his lawyer again agreed.

Expressing his frustration, the judge exclaimed, “I don’t even know why he would do that.”

In a swift and decisive move, the judge revoked Harris’s bond and ordered him to turn himself in at the Washtenaw County Jail by 6 p.m. Failure to do so would result in a bench warrant with no bond.

Harris seemed shocked and uttered, “Oh my God,” as the judge made the ruling.

According to WILX-TV, even during the beginning of the hearing, Harris appeared to be violating Michigan’s hands-free driving law by holding his phone in his hand while driving.

As a consequence of his actions, Harris’s next hearing is now scheduled for June 5, according to MLive.

I couldn’t help but laugh at this and was honestly blown away at how shocked the defendant looked when the judge called him out on driving.
