The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) had a meltdown over Matt Palumbo, content manager for the Bongino Report, who criticized their chief funder, the left-leaning George Soros. In a June 8 “Hatewatch” blog post, the SPLC falsely claimed that any criticism of Soros was motivated by anti-Semitism.
They then targeted Palumbo’s upcoming book, The Man Behind the Curtain, without offering any evidence of the book’s supposed “anti-Semitic trope-laden” content. The SPLC also failed to acknowledge the donations that Soros’ organizations made to their own coffers over the span of four years.
Palumbo mocked the SPLC’s absurdity in response to their defamatory allegations. In an April interview with Daily Wire host Candace Owens, Palumbo examined the perplexing motivation of the billionaire’s contempt towards the U.S. Nonetheless, the SPLC misrepresented the conversation with Owens by suggesting that anti-Semitism was the driving factor of the conversation.
In reality, Owens merely restated Soros’ own apathetic stance towards his teenage acquaintance with Nazis, adding that it was odd that Soros would despise the nation that liberated him.
SPLC also took to air out grievances against those who use the phrase “Soros-backed” to describe the radical D.A.s whom the billionaire funds and is connected to. The organization conflated this term with the centuries-old anti-Semitic trope of Jews using their wealth to control the world. They conveniently ignored the fact that Soros himself has bragged about his efforts to manipulate the legal system in the United States.
Clearly, the SPLC will go to any lengths to defend Soros. Over the years, the organization responsible for labelling countless organizations as being ‘extremist’ has been mired in controversy for their deeply questionable activities which have included the support of listed anti-Semites and critics of Israel, the appointment of a terrorist to their board of directors, and accusations of racism against their own staff.
However, their willingness to resort to mudslinging and lambasting their critics as anti-Semitic without any merit is perhaps the most telling: anyone who dares challenge their liberal agenda will be labeled as hatemongers.
