Students Attack Man During Texas Walkout Video

Students Attack Man During Texas Walkout Video

New video from Kyle, Texas shows a chaotic scene. A large group of students surrounds and attacks a man during a protest tied to an anti-ICE walkout.

The footage was shared by Real America’s Voice reporter Brian Glenn. He posted the clip to X and wrote, “I was told he was.” That identification has not been confirmed by police or the school district.

The video shows students swarming a man near a pickup truck. They hit him, throw objects, and shout at him. Bystanders try to break up the fight. One person in the crowd wore a shirt that read, “Kill Your Local Pedophile.” Another person who appears to try to intervene wore a shirt that read, “Choose Kindness Always.”

CBS Austin also posted footage from protests that took place at multiple campuses. The walkouts affected at least four districts: Hays CISD, Manor ISD, Lockhart ISD and Pflugerville ISD.

Hays Consolidated ISD released a formal message about the protests under the heading “Statement Regarding Hays CISD Student Protests.” The district stressed that the walkouts were not condoned, that skipping class is against district rules, and that safety and instruction are priorities.

The district reminded families of the 1969 Supreme Court ruling in Tinker v. Des Moines, quoting, “It can hardly be argued that either students or teachers shed their constitutional rights to freedom of speech or expression at the schoolhouse gate.”

Local police agencies responded as well. Kyle Police said officers monitored the demonstration, which drew roughly 500 students into the downtown area. They arrested two juveniles during the event, one facing several charges including assault on a public servant and possession of alcohol. Officials said those arrests were unrelated to the video of the attack.

Buda Police issued an update reporting a separate call for a fight in the area. They said officers were alerted to a verbal dispute between a juvenile and an adult that escalated into a larger physical altercation. Both primary parties were identified and the matter remains under investigation. No arrests were reported in that incident at the time of the update.

News outlets and law enforcement emphasize that the man shown in the video has not been officially identified as a teacher. Brian Glenn has said he was told the man is a teacher, but that detail remains unverified in public records or official statements.

Social media added mixed claims. One Reddit post forwarded to reporters suggested the man was the initial aggressor. Other posts frame the scene as an unprovoked attack. At this stage, investigators are still sorting witness statements and video.

What we know: a large group of students left campuses to protest. A violent incident happened near a downtown street. Video of the clash circulated quickly online. Authorities from multiple agencies are investigating. The district says it did not authorize the walkouts and warned of disciplinary consequences for unexcused absences.

As the investigation continues, officials say they will review footage and interview witnesses to determine what led to the altercation and whether criminal charges will follow.
